I’ve used this app for over 4 years with only minor problems with connectivity until now. This problem is not because I am unfamiliar with the app.
So, essentially my one-year-old, $7000 hearing aids, are no longer working with ease because the tech department/ developer of the app cannot get the bugs out. I can still control my aids directly though Settings>Accessibility on my iphone (so, yes, they ARE paired to the device and the OS is up-to-date) BUT the volume control is more limited via this route than it had been with the app. (I did NOT switch it to demo.) While frozen in Demo, it will not allow for actual use of the app - hence, the volume controls and ability to switch between programs is disabled. Starting yesterday, it switched into “Demo” mode and won’t exit Demo. Recently, the app looses the connection to my hearing aids SEVERAL times a day. It would be nice if this issue could be resolved because I doubt if Odd Behavior and myself are the only 2 users experiencing it. Other than that the app is good that’s why I’m changing from 1 star to 3 stars. I have deleted app and reinstalled several times to no avail. My left hearing aid will for no apparent reason jump from its current volume setting to the initial volume setting when first connecting. But, am having the same issue as the Odd Behavior reviewer.
For the price of Resound hearing aids, not having an app that works right is ridiculous! Sometimes they connect right up, sometimes one does and one doesn’t, and sometimes neither does. I open my aids at night when I go to bed, but when I close them in the morning it’s hit and miss. However, consistent connections is not a guarantee. I checked the Resound website to make sure that my Linx2 aids were compatible with the iPhone SE and they are supposed to be. I went from an iPhone 6 to an iPhone SE 2nd generation and the connectivity problems are bad. Finally, Resound did something and things went back to normal and I never had any more problems- until now. Lately I couldn’t even open the hearing aid and get the app to find. With the old app I never lost connection but now it’s all the time. Don’t know what has happened but ever since resound smart app was updated my hearing aids have been losing connection and changing settings on their own.
